Personal Finance : Top Money Tips for Malaysians

Today, I went to MPH @ City Square to buy a book on personal finance by KC Lau titled 'Top Money Tips for Malaysians'. I must say it's quite a good read for anybody who's interested to increase their financial intelligence. I've read quite a number of books by Robert Kiyosaki quite sometime ago so I skipped some pages which teaches some basic knowledge about finance.

Being the 'Minister of Finance' in our household, I have always been interested in ways to make our money work harder for us..

Here's some lessons from the book which I find very useful and can be implemented almost immediately:

1) earn passive income while surfing the internet
2) turn my passion into money making machine
3) make money from our credit card.. in our case, make more$
4) making better decisions when 'maneuvering' our mortgage next year
5) etc

Did you know that you can enjoy tax relief for educational purposes? I'm glad I do... But if you don't, here they are:

1) Child education insurance policy - Max RM3k
2) SSPN - Max RM3k
3) Post grad education - Max RM5k
4) Book purchase - Max RM1k

Other tax relief that was not mentioned are:
5) Internet subscription - Max RM500 for yr2010 onwards
6) Sports equipment - Max RM300

Visit the LHDN site to get the full list/description of other tax relief i.e. computer, life insurance, donations etc
