I finally decided to get a GPS at a PC & Electronics fair yesterday. Nothing fancy, it's a GooZee x400 powered by Papago. I didn't want to get it before bcoz I was confident that we can get around by using a map.. It was a success for the first 3mths la.. until our recent trip to Orchard just before Xmas with SIL & MIL.
Mr Map VS Mr GPS
It took us almost an hour to find our way back from Beach Street to Woodlands check point. The roads in S'pore are sooooooooo confusing! It was a nightmare!! Thank God SIL has better sense of direction as compared to me. Sudah pun mata rabun ayam, it was really a struggle trying to read the tiny letterings on the map especially at night. Klu tidak, we'll be spending the night in the car lor.. hehehe . I must a admit; there is some truth in this book:
There's sooooooo many models of GPS to choose from.. Wanted to get a Nuvi but after doing some research, GooZee is rated as "value for money". For me, whatever brand does not matter asalkan it's durable and reliable.

eik.. I thot spore streets are easy to navigate, clear direction, and the city is very well planned.
The downside of GPS is that if the city is developing too fast, the system will not be upgraded accordingly ( according to my friend's experience )
like Shanghai, It's changing in every second , My friend's GPS told her to do u turn on the High way bridge! It was a normal street before but now has changed to over pass high way, in the GPS it is still the old road hahaha.
Funny.
in spore, there's so many signages which makes it easy for ppl to get confused.. pening oh.. CTE, BKE, AYE... arrrghhh.. we kept taking the wrong highways... it gets worse when u're lost in a township...
Ya, GPS oso not 100% reliable.. road diversions, new higways etc.. the map has to be constantly updated online.. thk god JB & spore not as bad as china.. u driving around thr?
no i dont drive. I dont even dare to drive in KK let alone here hehehee
