Modified bed railing..
On 17 Jan'09, approx 10am, as usual, i made a cup of coffee and sat in front of my Laptop in d living room while Mia doing her stuff (playing, watching cartoon, reading etc) just a few feet away (if not inches) from me.. She hasn't been feeling very well (been vomiting n purging 1-2 days before). So still a bit weak. As she was playing, suddenly i heard a thud... I remembered few minutes before, she was on d living room floor right next to the sliding door. I guess she was trying to pull something and lost her grip and fell - knocked her head on the tiled floor. As i walked towards her, i was shocked to see her.. she was having a seizure!!! OMG!! I was panicking like hell... screaming "Mia Pleaaaaseeeee" a thousand times. Her lips was turning blue!!. I still get goosebumps today whenever i think abt what happened that day. I didn't know what to do.. so i yelled for my neighbour.. dialed 994, got connected.. Then my neighbour said we better drive to SMC...
Mia's seizure subsided and she was lying in my arms... lifeless... i was crying like never before... Scared to death!!! I never want to go thru that again.. Took her to SMC emergency. Paed Dr said better admit her and put her under observation. Hubby was not in KK when this happened. When i called to inform what had happened, he was standing in front of Timpohon gate - just about to ascend Mt Kinabalu (work). So he immediately, jumped into his car and drove to SMC.
At abt 5pm, Mia's Paed Dr & a Neuro Dr came to assess her - They were thrilled to see her back on her feet playing, walking, running. Suddenly few minutes after they left the room, she had another seizure. This time my hubby was there to witness the whole thing. We decided to get her head scanned. Neuro Dr said CT scan is normal.
So, cut long story short.. Mia was discharged at 7pm on 20Jan'09. Paed Dr said the seizure is caused by concussion.
